Multiplying By Hundreds

Multiplying By 100:

Any number multiplied by 100 is the number with two 0s at the end. That is in the tens and ones place and the number is moved to the left.

For example

3 X 100 = 300

46 X 100 = 4600

The same holds true for all the numbers.

Multiplying By 200:

Any number multiplied by 200 can be written as

4 X 200 = 4 X 2 X 100 = 8 X 100 = 800

Multiplying By 300:

Any number multiplied by 30 can be written as

14 X 300 = 14 X 3 X 100 = 42 X 100 = 4200

Similarly

12 X 400 = 12 X 4 X 100 = 48 X 10 = 4800

Hence we can say that

To multiply any number with the multiple of 100. We write two 0s at the end. That is in the tens and ones place and multiply the other numbers
